SUPPORT THE SUPPORTERSWE HAVE A BRAND NEW STRATEGY FOR THE HUNTER, NSW, AND WE NEED YOUR HELP!!Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/SupportTheSupportersNSW

STS logo.jpg

Support the Supporters is an initiative of our Disability Employment Advisory Group - DEAG (H-CC-NC), and the campaign starts on 1 September 2013!

The idea for "Support the Supporters" came from feedback received from Monet's (who employ people with psychiatric disability) when the NDCO Hunter-Central Coast promoted their History Talks through NDCO networks, and then others passed it on again. They experienced increased business and if it worked once, then it might well work again! The NDCO put the idea to our Disability Employment Advisory Group (H-CC-NC) and we're now collaborating on taking turns each month to feature a new business and build the strategy.

Through our own networks we can spread the word about supporting a business who provides opportunities to people with disability... many of us have students, clients, children/relatives with disability seeking work, or are a person yourself with disability, so what better way to help our own sector than by spending at the very businesses who can assist the people that we are supporting?!

Help us to create more jobs for people with disability by eating at their restaurant/cafe, using their mowing service, buying plants at their nursery, going to featured evening events and much more. If this works... we'll extend the initiative to the Central Coast and North Coast of NSW given that our University of Newcastle NDCO Program now covers those areas, as do most of our member services.
